Oakley City is pleased to announce the launch of TextMyGov text alerts, which is a new smart text messaging service that will provide Oakley City residents important information and updates to keep citizens informed.

Oakley City is officially launching the new text alert system starting today November 2nd. Citizens can choose to opt-in to receive these notifications by texting "OAKLEY" to the number 91896. After sending the initial keyword, users will be asked to reply to the confirmation with a "YES" to opt-in for notifications. Residents will receive text message notifications on things such as Road Closures, Utility Services, Upcoming Events, and other Important Announcements. Users can opt-out from all texts at any time by texting STOP.

Oakley City is excited for this new technology to keep Oakley City residents informed. Other governmental entities across the country are utilizing this system with great success. In the upcoming months, other features will be available to find information and report issues to the city.
