2011 Oakley City Municipal Elections
2011 is a municipal election year. These elections are administered by each of the municipalities within the County.
Any person seeking to become a candidate for a Oakley City municipal office shall file a Declaration of Candidacy in person with the City Recorder*during office hours and not later than 4:30 p.m. between July 1 and July 15, 2011 at the Oakley City Hall, 960 W. Center Street, Oakley. (20A-9-203)
The available positions to be filled are three (3) City Council seats, all 4-year terms.
The qualifications to be a candidate are (10-3-301: 20A-9-203):
 
Be a United States Citizen
Be at least 18 years old.
Be a resident of Oakley City or a resident of any recently annexed area for at least 365 consecutive days immediately preceding the date of the election.
Be a registered voter of Oakley City
 
Municipal Election Deadlines
July 1-15, filing period, Candidates must file with the city recorder where they intend to run for office.*Note: Regular office hours are Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
September 13, Municipal Primary Election (if necessary)
November 8, Municipal Election Day
 
Government issued photo ID is required of all voters.
 
Registering To Vote
Fill out a voter registration form (Please enclose a photo copy of your Utah driver’s license).
Return the form to the Summit county Clerk’s Office before the following deadlines listed below.
 
Registration deadline to vote in the General Election:
            October 4 Last day to register by mail (20A-2-202(3))
            October 4 Last day to register and be eligible to early vote
            October 18 Last day to register in-person to vote (20A-2-201)
